Craftsman Quiet Model 88694

These new snow blowers are designed to make the snow throwing experience safer and more comfortable. How? by making your snow blowing experience a lot quieter, the new Craftsman® 2 stage snow blowers are up to 45 percent quieter than all their previous models.

The new Craftsman Quiet 2-Way Joystick Snow Thrower Model 88972 is replacing the Model 88970. This 26 inch 2-stage 208cc  snow blower will be the quiet choice for homeowners with medium size areas to clear (16 by 100 or so)

The new Craftsman Quiet 4-Way Joystick Snow Thrower Model 88694 replaces the popular Model 88691. This 26 inch 208cc snow blower features not only the new quiet engine but “zero-turn” steering and 4 way chute control.  If you need to blow snow at all hours of the day or night right next to your neighbor’s bedroom window and you want a snow blower that’s easy to use – this is the one for you.

Are you ready for a quiet snow blower?

Craftsman 88972

Craftsman 88972

My Opinion: Craftsman designed this new snow blower the right way. They re-engineered the engine so it now gives you a lot less noise but doesn’t lower the power.  Even though the muffler is huge compared to the old muffler, it doesn’t take up any more room on the snow blower. One of the benefits of this new design is the fuel tank is also relocated and is larger then the old version.

The rest of the Model 88694 snow blower is the same high quality machine that you are used to with the previous Model 88691. Since the only items that have changed are the fuel tank and muffler we will not have to take a wait-and-see on this snow blower. It has the same quality and durability you expect from Craftsman.

The Craftsman Quiet two-way joystick model 88972

  • Glide-Tech skid shoes eliminate garage rust stains and driveway damage by sliding along pavers and bricks.
  • Convenient push button electric start allows for easy and sure starts in cold weather.

      • 6 forward – 2 reverse speeds

New Craftsman Quiet Engine

My Opinion: Craftsman changed this new snow blower just a little from the previous Model 88970. They switched from a 4-way chute to a 2-way joystick chute.  The 2-way joystick will let you quickly change where you are putting the snow from side to side. The deflector is adjusted like the one on the most popular 24 inch 88173. (you move it by hand) This is the simple way to do it and if you are the type who doesn’t want all those extra features (that can wear out) this is the way to go.

Like the 88694, Craftsman re-engineered the engine so it now gives you a lot less noise but doesn’t lower the power.  The muffler is huge compared to the old muffler, but it doesn’t take up any more room on the snow blower. One of the benefits of this new design is the fuel tank is also relocated and is larger then the old version.

The rest of the Model 88972 snow blower is the same high quality machine that you are used to with the previous Model 88970. Since the only items that have changed are the fuel tank and muffler we will not have to take a wait-and-see on this snow blower. It will have the same quality and durability you expect from Craftsman.

See more pictures below. The Craftsman Quiet Engine is only available on the 88792 and 88694
