Hi Al, One of the better things about the Ariens Deluxe/Platinum series is they will clean 1 inch of snow just as well as they clean 20 inches. Some of the other heavy duty snow blowers have a hard time with only an inch or two of snow.

Size-wise. I probably would have suggested a 28 just to save you a little money, but you will like the 30 inch. You should be able to clear 8-10 inches in 45 minutes or so.

I like this next feature. But there have been a few people complain about it because they didn't understand the difference between their new Ariens and their old machine. Your new Ariens is very maneuverable because it has the Auto-turn. This automatic steering lets you turn quickly and easily and always have traction to both wheels. Here is the difference - with your old snowblower it went straight on it's own and you had to manhandle it to turn it. With the Ariens you have to steer it where you want it to go. If you let go of the snowblower it will wander around and not go in a straight line. It's very easy to keep in a straight line but it is different than your old snow blower. It's kind of like owning a push lawn mower with caster wheels on the front.

Did you buy the right snow blower? My driveway is about the same size as yours plus I do my neighbors small gravel drive. I'd be quite happy with your new snow blower.

I live about thirty minutes from Pittsburgh, Pa. Our snowfall amounts vary from year to year. A few years ago we had a 24" snow fall but this year the biggest was 9" snow far. My downhill driveway is about 12 feet long and 80 feet long. i have a pad in front of my three car garage that is 40' x 40' all concrete. This was a 8 hour ordeal to remove that snow.

I had been using a MTD 24" for the past 10 years which i bought at Costco for about $500.00 and this had electric start. I travelled the world over 40 years for work and never time to do maintenance on the snow blower. I retired a bout a year ago and figured it was time for maintenance on the MTD. Changed the oiled plug and greased it this past year. then first i used it this year the starter sounded like one of my old cars I owned when the bendix was going bad. I finally got the starter to engage and started snow blowing and then I seen drops of oil in the snow from a leak. I figured it was tire to retire the MTD.

I looked at our local home depot and they did not have any snowblowers out??? Same thing at Lowes?? I checked a couple of local dealers in my area and did not see anything i liked or their price. So i went to a local Ariens dealer where I had purchased my Husqvarna MZ5424S ZTR which has worked well. I looked at a Ariens 921044 Deluxe 28 and a 921032 Deluxe 30. I wound up buying the 921032 Deluxe because of the price he gave on this and he did the assembly and delivered it to my house for free with a full tank of gas and oil in the engine. I also bought the Nylon skid shoes for this blower which he also installed.

of course we have not had any snow since I bought the snow blower and in fact the temperature today will be close to 60 degrees F.

So did I buy the right snowblower for this area or not and what kind of reviews have you had on the Ariens 921032 Deluxe 30.

Thanks,

Hi M, I'm not a mechanic so I'm not the person to ask.

If you don't want to talk to a dealer I suggest you go to the Ariens Support site and download the operator's manual and parts list. Between the two you should be able to figure out where the ends go. You will need the model and serial number off the nameplate on the side of the transmission housing.
