The 1924E compares to the Craftsman Model 88970 2 Stage Snow Thrower. The Craftsman is wider, has an extended chute, 4-way chute, poly-tech glide shoes, and a larger motor for a street price of about $300 less.

Simplicity’s Description:
The Intermediate dual-stage snowthrower provides the perfect balance between convenience and performance. It features the power of a large snowthrower with the maneuverability of a smaller machine, all at an affordable price.
Built to handle even the toughest winters, the Simplicity Intermediate features the same heavy-duty welded construction with heavy-gauge steel frame, auger housing and chute found in larger Simplicity dual-stage units. Powered by the Briggs & Stratton Snow Series™ engine, it features separate choke and throttle controls plus a cold-weather primer to get you started quickly, no matter what conditions winter has in store.
My Opinion:
The 1924E has a metal discharge chute and a 3 quart fuel tank, otherwise there is nothing special about this machine. This size Simplicity snowblower does have a good reputation from the owners but I’m not sure paying an additional $300 over the Craftsman Model 88970 2 Stage Snow Thrower is worth the extra money. The Simplicity is repaired through your local dealer and it is up to them to offer in-home repair. Don’t assume they do.
