2014 Sno-Tek 920402 (Ariens Economy) 24 in 208 cc 2-stage Snow Blower Review

Is This The Best Snow Blower For You? This snow blower is a basic snow blower and is designed for smaller driveways that get more than a few inches of snow. This snow blower will handle normal midwest snows. It will save you time over shoveling and make you feel good to have a nice, clean driveway. This SnoTek snow blower would work great if you live in the city, have a short 2 car drive and get plowed in by the city snow plow. If your driveway is more than two cars wide and 60 feet long I suggest going with a larger snow thrower.

What you can use this snow blower for: For Paved and Gravel surfaces. Moderate to wet and heavy snowfall. This snow blower will easily handle 6 to 8 inch snow falls.

What you may not like: It has a smaller auger than the Ariens branded snow throwers. If you get more than 6 inches of snow at a time it will take you longer to move you snow than all the Ariens models.

The tires are a little small to go out in your backyard and clean a patch of lawn for your dog. You will eventually get the job done, but if you are like me, you will be swearing at the tires by the time you are done.  (At one time I had a snow blower with these small tires and I hated it enough that I now own one with tracks so I can go out and clean that area for the dogs) You can use this to clean you patio and deck but the steel skid shoes may scratch the surface. Ariens does have non-abrasive skid shoes available through Home Depot Ariens Non-Abrasive Skid Shoes 72600300

Be Careful! Online prices from other “factory-direct discount” stores vary wildly and I have yet to find prices on the web cheaper for Ariens Snow Blowers than Home Depot.

Is This One Of The Best Rated Snow Blowers for 2012 – 2013? This Sno-Tek snow blower gets great reviews from the owners who need a small machine. It is not a heavy-duty as the Ariens Line.

Does This Get a Best Snow Blower Rating For 2012-2013? In the Good, Better, Best rating system this snow blower rates a “Good” for ease of use and the fact it is a specialty unit. It uses a great LCT motor, is built and backed by Ariens, but the tire size and smaller auger limit it’s capacity. Don’t be afraid to buy this snow blower if it fits your needs. I do like the fact that Ariens put a 208 cc motor on this unit.  You will be able to move snow a lot faster than you can with the Model 920404.

Is This One Of The Best Snow Blowers for the Money 2012-2013? If you need a small, basic, no frills, powerful snow blower this is a great machine for the money. This is Ariens economy line so it has an aluminum gearbox.

NOTE: If you order through the Home Depot it will be available to pick up at your nearest Home Depot store. Just click on the item, order here, go you your local store and pick it up. If you want, you can have the item delivered right to your home. Either way it’s fast. Either way this is a safe, fast way to get your new snowblower.

Customer Satisfaction: This Sno-Tek has over 550 good reviews. These are economical, basic machines designed to work well for years.

Value: This snow blower is part of the Ariens economy line. It is a good value machine backed by Ariens! It is comparable to other snow blowers in this price range.

Service & Parts AvailabilityService and parts are easily available through the store where you purchased it. Home Depot uses authorized service centers to repair your snow blower.

Ease Of Use: This is not the easiest snow blower to use because it does not have power steering.  If you have a hard time using a snow blower, I suggest you look at a unit with power steering. It does have a pin so you can unlock one wheel for normal use. Unlocking the pin makes it easy to turn.
